Jamboree Training Camp
With less than 90 days till the opening ceremony at the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea, both Derbyshire units have run their final training camp, having lots of fun and making sure we are Jamboree ready! Unit 12 were at Spitewinter campsite in Chesterfield district where they had a great time learning some new skills from how to wash clothes in dry bags, keeping well in a humid climate and also honing in on skills like cooking on stoves that we will use at the Jamboree. They also had some fun tomohawk throwing and learning about goalball and having a go. A good session lead by one of the young people. This Jamboree isn’t just for those in the units it’s for everyone. The UK Contingent will be putting an event online from the WSJ site on the 6th August. This is the dream live, to get a feel for the Jamboree vibes and get involved with activities too. https://www.scouts.org.uk/…/internationa…/wsj/dreamlive/
