Well what a fantastic discovery we have made! This past week we have run our Autumn camp at Spitewinter just outside of Chesterfield, and what a marvellous little place this was. Some fantastic facilities - we stayed in the top field with the Les Burt hut which came as a dining hall and fully kitted out kitchen. Everywhere was incredibly clean and the site was very well looked after. The theme for our camp was based on Back to the Future and the hut gave us a wonderful opportunity to put on a wide variety of activities, (building flux capacitors, designing hoverboards) and screen both movies to the cubs in a nice cosy warm environment. The newly built Casta Run gave our cubs the chance to see if they could get up to 88 miles per hour (believe me I thought I was doing that when I went down it!) and on the last morning we had a visit from the Doc himself in a real Delorean DMC-12! There are only 130 of these in the UK so it was a fantastic experience that the kids loved! We will definitely be coming back to Spitewinter next year - I've just got to figure out how I can top the Delorean!

Great little Scout site with all amenities one would need for the weekend.

We booked a weekend for our scouts. Mostly their first time camping, the site really suited as it provides a safe and friendly experience. The site has wooded areas (brilliant in the heat) which provided shade. The toilets were very clean and pleasant. Lots of areas to do activities such as den making, camp fire and camp fire area. We really enjoyed our stay and it was great experience for our scouts.
It's also worth a quick note to thank Rebecca for her patience and care of the site. Strongly recommend.

We love this site and regularly use it for our Scouts, Explorers, D of E, & Network members for camping and day visits. It's always clean, tidy and well-maintained and the facilities are ideal for traditional scouting and bushcraft activities. It's a great base for many local hiking routes, places to visit and additional activities such as water sports at Carsington.

We held our outdoor Beaver meeting here. The site is very well organised in line with Covid regulations and the kids love the outdoor space.
